Medical disclaimer. This calculator is for education only. The result is a reference number, not a prescription, and it is not medical advice. If your clinician gave you a different target, follow your clinician. This page is for tracking and education only. It is not medical advice and it never recommends doses. Fiber calculator
Increase fiber slowly and drink water. Reference numbers, not a prescription. Nothing you type leaves this page.
Formula and sources
Reference amounts: 25 grams a day for women and 38 grams a day for men aged 19 to 50, and 14 grams per 1,000 calories. These come from the National Academies Dietary Reference Intakes as confirmed through secondary sources; we have not yet checked them against the Dietary Guidelines appendix.
How the calculator works
The calculator on this page gives a reference target based on the information you enter. It is meant to help you track intake and spot patterns over time, not to replace your prescriber or care team.
The app does not tell you what to eat or how to change your medication. If eating feels hard, talk with a clinician. For more context, see fiber on GLP 1.
Sources for the reference values
This page uses the reference information provided in the calculator. For background on fiber-rich foods, the national guidance encourages adults to eat more foods such as vegetables, beans, fruit, and whole grains.
The calculator itself is for education only. If you are comparing different eating patterns, fibermaxxing explains the topic in more detail, but it is still not a treatment plan.
Add fiber slowly
Increase fiber slowly and drink water. Some people find it helpful to notice how their body feels as they add more fiber-rich foods.
If you want a simple place to track that pattern, the app will include a weekly appetite check-in, a weight trend, and food-related tracking tools. Join the waitlist at get the app.
